German farmers have initiated a week-long series of protests by blocking roads with tractors and trucks, expressing their discontent over proposed eliminations of tax breaks on diesel.

Police reported disruptions at various locations nationwide as vehicles occupied major routes and slip roads.

In Berlin, the primary access route to the Brandenburg Gate was impacted on Monday, with numerous tractors stationed amid freezing temperatures.

Many of the vehicles displayed banners bearing slogans such as “No farmers, no food, no future.”

The farmers assert that the government’s intention to revoke tax breaks on agricultural diesel will jeopardize numerous businesses within the sector, Sky News reported.
