Celta Vigo secured a crucial 1-0 victory against Granada at Estadio Municipal de Balaídos, breaking their 12-game winless streak in LaLiga (D6, L6) thanks to Jorgen Strand Larsen's first-half goal.

Celta demonstrated an assertive start, dominating proceedings and keeping Granada pinned in their own half early on. Jonathan Bamba and Iago Aspas played instrumental roles in Celta's attacking buildup. The first significant opportunity arose before the 10th minute when Unai Núñez failed to convert Aspas' cross. However, Celta's persistence paid off midway through the half, with Strand Larsen executing a remarkable backheel while facing away from the goal to give his team the lead.

Granada found themselves compelled to push forward in response but struggled to generate threatening opportunities towards Vicente Guaita's goal due to a lack of creativity. The visitors heavily relied on Bryan Zaragoza, recently signed from Bayern Munich, resulting in difficulties in creating substantial problems in the final third. Consequently, Celta maintained control comfortably but couldn't extend their advantage before halftime.

In the second half, Celta aimed to capitalize on their momentum, attempting to replicate the intensity displayed earlier. Granada adjusted by widening their play, allowing their full-backs more freedom and granting Gerard Gumbau liberty in midfield. Despite this change in approach, the visitors came close to equalizing on three occasions through Zaragoza, Lucas Boyé, and Myrto Uzuni but failed to find the net. Guaita made a crucial save to deny Boyé's attempt.

Struggling to sustain their increased intensity, Granada resorted to launching long balls into the box in a bid to level the score. Meanwhile, Celta adopted a more defensive posture to protect their narrow lead, especially after Aspas received a straight red card in the 80th minute for a fierce challenge on Óscar Melendo. Nevertheless, Celta managed to safeguard their lead, securing the win and climbing out of the relegation zone. On the other hand, Granada, with just one win in their first 17 matches (W1, D5, L11), find themselves five points adrift from safety.
