The Kent County Health Department is offering free radon test kits this month

The Supervising Sanitarian says radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that everyone is at risk for, regardless of how new their home is. It is the second-leading cause of lung cancer behind smoking in the U.S. and around 21-thousand people die every year because of it. Health officials are urging people to check their home every two to three years.
