Pilot After 50 Episode 2 - At the age of 52, I recently earned my private pilot certificate, but I did it the wrong, hard way. Learn from my mistakes in this video about getting started in flight school. Here's why I did it, and what my expectations were, versus reality.

Here, I'll tell you how to save time, money and hassles and get your pilot's license quickly and efficiently, no matter how old you are.

Am I too old to learn to fly? How much does it all cost? How long does it take? What are the pitfalls to watch out for? What might take you by surprise with your flight instructor?

Being a pilot is cool, fun and definitely worth it if you've ever dreamed of flying an airplane. Adventure awaits!

Errata: Besides (most of) the essential books, and a subscription to the online ground school, the Jeppesen Ground School package also included an E6B Flight Computer, a transparent plotter and a handy black flight bag (I'm still using my Jeppesen bag). My flight school switched to Sporty's, but I finished all my lessons with Jeppesen.
