HIMARS destroyed Russian Buk missile system in Ukraine

The Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired the HIMARS multiple-launch rocket system at the Russian Buk air defence system in Donetsk Oblast.
Operators of the 3rd Separate Special Operations Forces Regiment, during reconnaissance operations on the Donetsk front, recorded a Buk-M2 anti-aircraft missile system and a 9S36 radar station, which is part of the system.
The Buk air defence system is designed, in particular, to hit aircraft, tactical ballistic and aircraft missiles, as well as surface and ground targets.
It is noted that the Special Operations Forces operators directed the fire of a Rocket Forces unit of the Defence Forces at a Russian Buk-M2 and a radar station. As a result of professional adjustment and accurate fire, Russian equipment was destroyed.
Buk-M2 is designed to defeat strategic and tactical airplanes, helicopters including while hovering, cruise missiles and other aerodynamic aircraft across the entire scope of their employment, tactical ballistic and air-launched missiles, and guided bombs in contested electronic and fire-intensive environment as well as to apply fire onto radiocontrast ground and sea targets. In its full capacity, the system provides for simultaneous engagement of 24 airborne targets flying from any directions at the altitudes from 0.015 km to 25 km.
