Ingredients:

For the Cake:

2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup Coca Cola
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 large eggs, beaten
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Frosting:

1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup Coca Cola
4 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions:

For the Cake:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Mix well and set aside.

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the Coca Cola and cocoa powder, stirring until well combined. Bring the mixture to a boil, then remove it from the heat.

Pour the hot Coca Cola mixture over the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the beaten eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla extract. Add this mixture to the batter and mix until well combined.
