A BBC Radio Christmas murder mystery from based on a novel by noted mystery writer H.R.F. Keating writing under the pen name "Evelyn Hervey", dramatized by Barry Campbell and Michael Bakewell.

It should have been an ordinary Christmas in the Thackerton household.

That is, until somebody started stealing the Christmas sugar mice set out as treats. So the governess, Miss Harriet Unwin, decided to do something about it.

Setting a trap, she did indeed uncover the thief, who was a member of the household staff. However, to her amazement, nothing was done about it. When she decided to confront the thief and find out why they had not been immediately dismissed, she walked right into a murder scene ... that of grandfather Thackerton.

Now the whole family and household are under police investigation, headed by Sergeant Drewd, and Miss Unwin finds herself at the head of a whole list of suspects...and in line to perhaps become the latest in a list of victims!
