Israel's foreign ministry has hit back at South Africa for filing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice. On X, its spokesperson Lior Haiat said 'Israel rejects with disgust the blood libel spread by South Africa'. He added that the claim 'lacks both factual and a legal basis, and constitutes a despicable and contemptuous exploitation of the court'. And he said 'South Africa is cooperating with a terrorist organisation that is calling for the destruction of the State of Israel'.

Lindiwe Zulu, South Africa's Minister of Social Development and an MP with the African National Congress, joins Al Jazeera live from Johannesburg.
