Zoroastrianism, Mithras and Christianity As Seen Through the Christ-Centered Model

Did Christianity "borrow" from the Cult of Mithras, itself an offshoot an ancient eastern religion which was reformed via the Zoroastrian faith? That is the accusation of some, but such charges miss the elephant in the room- a better explanation for the common threads between faiths, threads which are strengthened and not lessened when early Genesis is viewed through the Christ-centered model.
