A series of quakes hit off the coast of Ishika in Japan, with one even reaching a 7.6 magnitude, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.

The country issued a tsunami warning after the quakes struck, and Japanese public broadcaster NHK TV has warned that waves could reach as high as 16 1/2 feet
