This initiative, a collaboration between the New Civil Administration and the Ministries of Finance, Interior, and Labour, is designed to end Israel’s reliance on Palestinian labour. The detailed strategy includes hiring 25,500 workers from Sri Lanka, 20,000 from China, 17,000 from India, 13,000 from Thailand, and 6,000 from Moldova. The plan also features economic incentives to motivate Israelis to work in sectors like construction and agriculture.
If approved, this policy shift would significantly alter Israel’s labour dynamics, moving away from Palestinian workers.
