On October 28, 2023, a sergeant was on patrol when he observed a vehicle with expired registration in Lewiston, WI. As the vehicle pulled over, the driver made several movements, shuffling items around. During an attempt to search the driver, she exhibited nervous behavior, resisted, and subsequently met the ground. When placed in the backseat of the police car, she continued to make persistent movements, indicating an effort to destroy evidence. A spilled bag of unknown drugs was soon discovered, which raised major concerns about potential fentanyl exposure to the sergeant and his K9 partner.
