Woman Admits to Killing Wife, Trying to Hide Body

A 48-year-old Englewood woman was arrested for allegedly murdering her wife and tampering with the evidence, Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said. The investigation began on Saturday at approximately 3:58 p.m. whe Jessica Winkler called 9-1-1 to report that she murdered her wife. When Deputies arrived on scene they found 51-year-old Rhiannon Layendecker, in the bed of her own truck wrapped in a blanket. Winkler murdered Layendecker during an argument and attempted to dispose her body and other evidence, SCSO said in a report.
