Gen X versus Millennial tactical driving schools – Learn How to Drive a Crown Vic

What makes a good driving instructor? What makes a good tactical driving instructor? Lets look at two schools, two generations, with two approaches. We look at PTC Driving school versus Team Oneil. One is professional, the other cant even back up (seriously).

PTC has clean, undamaged cars like the Crown Victoria, the quintessential cop car, that prove the instructors know how to perform maneauvers such as the J Turn, High Speed Backing, or the Breach (granted, the breach cars seem to be Towncars, for their heavier mass, and do show battle damage, which is unavoidable).

Team Oneil, as shown on a Wire show, has their main cars looking WORSE that PTC’s breach car. On top of that, they are focused more on drown shots, rather than showing proper technique. I have been trained in EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations Course) and most everything this instructor is saying is incorrect. On top of that, he uses terms incorrectly and comes off as a poser.

So, the question is this. Is this a generational issue, or a political one? Is Wire pushing an otherwise legitimate school to look goofy and silly on camera for their angle, or is Team Oneil this bad at driving? We don’t know, but at the end of the day, more than ones appearance, the cars reflect a driver’s skill.

So which school would you trust to train you? Or more importantly, if you could pick two drivers to get your family members out of a bad situation, which student do you pick? PTC or Team Oneil?

I know who Im picking.
