Is 8 million people a lot or a little on Earth?

Currently, more than 8 billion people live on the planet. It seems like we occupy a huge territory. But look at the map.
The areas marked in yellow have the same number of people as the rest of the landmass.
And even if we assume that every single person has 200 m2 of land, (then) all humankind could comfortably fit on the territory equal to the area of only one U.S. state – Alaska.
And if the number of people increases right up to 50 billion, even then we will occupy no more than 25% of all habitable land.
