Supporting Senate Bill 7: What’s In Your Child’s School Library?

On Oct. 14, I joined with an energized group of state lawmakers, parents and pastors seeking to protect our school children from sexually explicit content.

During this state Capitol news conference in support of Senate Bill 7, we also also identified some of the most obscene books and materials known to be available in many school libraries.

Advanced by the PA Senate on Oct. 24 with a slim 29-21 bipartisan margin, Senate Bill 7 would require parental notification of all sexually explicit content in their child’s school and give them the authority to limit their own child’s access to such content.

Now awaiting consideration in the PA House, Senate Bill 7 would not ban any books from Pennsylvania school curriculum or libraries, but rather empower parents to control only what materials their own children have access to in school.
