Lazarus - 4

The story of the resurrection of Lazarus is about so much more than a dead body coming back to life. This story is full of important spiritual concepts. For example, early in the story, Jesus tells the disciples that they are going to go into Judea. The disciples warn Jesus that this would be a dangerous move because the religious leaders want to kill Jesus. Jesus’ response to the disciples is interesting because it ignores their fears and talks only about having a relationship with the light. What is that about?

In this story, Jesus seems to receive special knowledge or insight about what was coming next and what to do next? How did He do that? And, is that something that is available to believers today?

If you are looking for it, the humanity of Jesus really stands out and can bring comfort to us when we are going through difficult times. One of the things we know is that Jesus was tempted in all things just as we are. That must men, then, that Jesus went through dark times when the future looked grim and He did not know what was going to happen next. How did Jesus get through those times? How was He able to have child-like faith that allowed Him to remain calm in the face of disaster?
