Why do we have a temperature sensor And it doesn't exactly get clearer when you open up the new thermometer app to use it The app basically allows you to go up close to household objects and measure the temperature I mean I don't see people doing that for enjoyment But it isn't Point it at the same object from the same distance and every single time the reading is different Close enough to get a ballpark idea but not close enough to be a professional piece of equipment I think Google put this in solely for the purposes of human temperature detection The idea that you know you're feeling sick Your Pixel is the first thing you can reach for to get a second opinion In fact earlier this year before the phones were even announced we saw a leaked video showing how you can move the sensor across your forehead to get a reading That is a great feature if it works because I mean I feel like people now are more conscious about getting sick than they've ever been before And your phone is like the one thing that you can pretty much guarantee you will always have with
