Hundreds of kids in western Kern County will receive toys this holiday season thanks to a local oil company and the Buttonwillow California Highway Patrol. Sentinel Peak Resources in Fellows, near Taft, held an employee toy drive and barbeque lunch Wednesday benefiting children in Taft and Buttonwillow. Employees donated hundreds of gifts including barbies, bikes and basketballs. "This toy drive that Sentinel Peak Resources assists us with is 100 percent of the toys that we gather for the Buttonwillow CHP's toy drive so today was an absolute success," said Officer Adam Taylor with the CHP Buttonwillow office.
