Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. SJ Shankar is on a five-day visit to Russia to discuss economic ties and international/bilateral issues.
The India-Russia partnership, lasting over 75 years, remains strong and stable, marked by a special and privileged strategic partnership.
During the visit, Dr. Shankar will meet Russia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, as well as his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov.
The bilateral ties encompass strong people-to-people and cultural connections, with the Indian Embassy in Moscow being Independent India's first mission abroad.
Both countries aim to broaden their engagement beyond traditional military, nuclear, and space cooperation, focusing on inter-regional cooperation, including initiatives like the International North-South Transport Corridor and the Chennai-Vladivostok Eastern Maritime Corridor.
