Recently a Thalattoarchon Saurophagis was captured on an underwater oil rig camera in the Gulf of Mexico.

Saurophagis was as big as a school bus and survived through the Triassic Period, nearly 224 million years ago. They even lived a little after the Permian extinction, which wiped out most marine life.
