Is There a Monopoly on the Law?

This week Stand4THEE received a letter from the Law Society of Ontario (LSO): https://lso.ca/home with accusations that the Stand4THEE website is offering legal services, and is therefore practicing law without a license.

The question that needs to be asked, does the LSO have a monopoly on the law? Is the LSO the the "owners" of law and only they can decide who can use it, and how?

A few things come to mind when examining these questions...
1. If one cannot discuss legal concepts and law procedures is this an infringement on free speech?
2. If the LSO monopolizes the law, does this impede on access to the law for those who cannot afford council?
3. If Canadians have a right to self-representation, yet cannot access law then would this mean the LSO is infringing on this right to self-represent in court?
4. Are we beholden to participate in corporate laws when we have no contracted with that corporate body, the LSO: https://www.ontario.ca/laws/statute/90l08#BK5?

Lastly, what is the intention of this letter? Is this an attempt to stop Canadians from sharing law and assisting one another in the community to represent themselves in a court of law?
