Trip to Maykop

Maikop, whose name means "valley of apple trees" in the Adyghe language, is the capital of the republic.

The date of foundation is considered to be 1857, the beginning of the city was a military fortification on the banks of the Belaya River. There are no outstanding ancient monuments here, but it is one of the most well-maintained cities in the North Caucasus! Tourists are also attracted by the picturesque surroundings of Maykop with mountain landscapes, alpine meadows, mysterious caves, waterfalls, canyons and hot springs.
