He Strikes Again

Pope Francis strikes again. He has instituted the declaration, Fiducia Supplicans, which says those in so-called same-sex unions can be blessed. This is actually just another step in Francis' effort to largely eliminate sin, especially sexual sin, from Catholic Teaching. This is just a step along the way. He isn't going to stop here. As Cardinal Gerhard Muller of Germany has pointed out, there is already a blessing in the Catholic Church for those in sin who do not want to leave sin, but want a blessing for strtength and light to possibly escape from the sin in the future. So this whole Francis ploy is just another PR stunt to set the stage for future attacks on the Catholic Church.
An actual pastoral way to treat those in such situations is to tell them the truth in a charitable way, that their way of life is a sin in the Catholic Church and it would be best for them to repent and go to Confession.
Those in such unions likely have the same-sex attraction disorder caused by dysfunction in their earlier years, including possibly sexual abuse. With God and good therapy, those who want to heal their disorder can make great strides in doing so.
No one is forced to be a Catholic. The Catholic Church should teach its beautiful Teaching on sexuality not watered down. That is an act of pastoral love. Francis seemingly hopes this move will attract more to the Catholic Faith, but it will have the opposite effect. People hunger for the truth. Authentic Catholicism is what attracts, something Francis seems to despise.
