The Violet Chanterelle (Gomphus clavatus) grows from August to October in coniferous forests with Fir and/or Spruce trees at middle to high elevations. The Violet Chanterelle can be found in the Pacific Northwest and is also known as the Clustered Chanterelle, Pig's Ear, Cantharellus clavatus, Nevrophyllum clavatum, and Pig's Ear Gomphus.
