Israel must do both – minimize casualties of the conflict and end Hamas, it’s not a choice – Blinken

Eliminating Hamas and minimizing the civilian death toll should not be considered as mutually exclusive aims for Israel, the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said during his end-of-year briefing. Meanwhile, Washington remains the sole country in the UN Security Council to oppose a ceasefire in Gaza.
