The reason WHY Chinese are SILENT on the MAJOR EARTHQUAKE that just wrecked Gansu Province, China 🇨🇳

A major earthquake just affected Gansu and Qinghai Provinces in China. Many are reported dead or injured. But the confusing part is, why, as a person living in China, had I not seen this on my WeChat feed or anywhere else on social media? This was the deadliest earthquake in China in a decade, yet you wouldn't know it happened if you only used Chinese social media. To be fair, this earthquake DID receive some mentions and limited coverage on the news and news sites, but it always seems to be a brief mention, or a footnote.
I'm not exaggerating when I say that it hasn't appeared in any social media that I've seen nor has one single person in China mentioned it to me. I flip through videos online here in China, and just see what the algorithm feeds me. There is no rhyme or reason to what it recommends to me because I don't use it often and I never really devote any amount of time to one particular topic. Yet, it doesn't feel the need to recommend to me footage from the worst earthquake within China in a decade? Seems pretty surreal if you ask me. But, actually this is just another example in a larger trend of China trying to downplay bad news that involved China and amplify bad news that affects other countries. It happened during the pandemic. It happened during the mass floods in China over the summer. It happened during the riots in China. It's just par for the course. In this video I'll explain why, I'll tell you all a bit about the earthquake and will discuss a few other relevant things as well.
The earthquake is referred to as the '2023 Jishishan Earthquake' (积石山 地震).
