In this season of Advent, let us prepare our hearts to receive Christ for Christmas.

On this sixth day of the retreat, let us journey with the Holy family - fleeing to the desert to take refuge in Egypt. The massacre of the Innocents is a painful moment where Mary and Joseph understand "the threat" their precious child is facing.

Let us ponder this moment and how it can speak to us about how joy and suffering walk along, in this journey on earth.
