Suspect barricades himself inside apartment complex east of Las Vegas Strip

A person of interest has barricaded themselves within an apartment complex situated east of the Las Vegas Strip. Las Vegas police urge the public to steer clear of the vicinity as they manage the ongoing situation.

Law enforcement officials report that at 11:12 a.m., detectives were engaged in an "investigative follow-up," pursuing a sought-after individual in the 3800 block of Royal Crest Street, close to Twain Avenue and Palos Verdes Street. The suspect was subsequently discovered inside a nearby apartment, where they have barricaded themselves.

The LVMPD SWAT team and Crisis Negotiators are on-site, and authorities advise the public to avoid the area for safety. As of 4 p.m., no further information has been disclosed.

In response to a barricade incident in the central Las Vegas valley, Metro police and SWAT teams are actively involved. Around 11:10 a.m. on Tuesday, Metro detectives were conducting a follow-up search for a wanted suspect in the 3800 block of Royal Crest Street, near Twain Avenue and Paradise Road.
