Derrick Morgan: Shrinking federal government starts with policy and committing to budget cuts

Derrick Morgan, Executive Vice President of the Heritage Foundation, says it’s critical for the next conservative president to prioritize policy and managing federal spending in government agencies. “We would advocate taking a hard look at the Defense budget, looking at the Research and Development budget which continues to grow very, very fast even as procurement is behind,” Morgan says. “We really can leave no stone unturned. Every single government agency needs to do its part.”
