More money approved for New Year's Eve security
6 years ago
Nevada lawmakers have approved a record amount of money -- $357,000 -- for security for this year's New Year's Eve celebrations in Las Vegas. That is about triple of the amount approved last year. This is also first year that Department of Homeland Security has given NYE a special event assessment rating of 1, which is typically reserved for major events like the Super Bowl.
