Kuwait: Late Emir Sheikh Nawaf al-Sabah laid to rest as condolences pour in

Funeral prayers have been held in Kuwait for Emir Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Sabah, who died at the age of 86 on Saturday.

The burial ceremony is restricted to close family.

Sheikh Nawaf governed for the past three years. Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah has been named as his successor.

The country has entered 40 days of mourning.
