13-Year-Old Girl Who Was Sexually Assaulted Beaten By The Accused's Sister

A 13-year-old girl was lured to a basement and beaten by multiple other girls on December 10 in France. The horrifying attack was filmed by one of the assailants and posted on social media. According to local news outlets, the girl had previously reported that she was sexually assaulted by one of the attacker's brothers. The assault, they reported, was "revenge." The police requested the video not be shared any further "out of respect for the victim." The initial footage was reported to PHAROS, a French police platform for flagging illegal content online. In the video, the victim is seen being dragged by her hair and repeatedly hit and kicked in the head, face, and back by multiple girls while she cries and screams "I'm sorry" and pleads with the attackers to stop. One of the assailants can be heard threatening, "talk about my brother again."

At one point, the victim even offers the gang money to stop, to no avail. She was taken to a hospital and treated. She and her father filed a police report two days later. One of the assailants, also 13, turned herself in alongside her mother, complaining that she had been receiving death threats after the video was circulated. She was taken into custody Friday morning. The prosecution reported that three other “teenagers suspected of having participated in these events” were taken into custody shortly after. One reposted video included the caption translated to English from French: "I swear to God the dirty kids who did this you are big tramps, you have no shame no education … it will happen to you 10 times worse God is great…"
