Sharpening a Card Scraper with a Bias

Sharpening a card scraper with a 90 degree edge and four sides with a burr - two top, two bottom, seems to vex hobby woodworkers to the point that many don't roll a burr.

One of the reasons is the wear profile from the prior burr and the cramming of everything into a 90 degree spectrum. Not hard to master, but false economy for most to get four edges instead of two when the four are no good or not very good.

You can improve your results by biasing the angles, filing them at an angle and then honing the tip with a slightly lower angle and then rolling the burr to that honed edge. The bias makes everything easier so you're not trying to hone a filed edge and taking a long time doing stuff that isn't woodworking.
