Units of the invading Russian army launched another attack in the direction of Avdiivka city in eastern Donetsk region on December 16. A column of Russian tanks and other armored fighting vehicles advanced from the village of Krasnogorovka towards the coke-chemical plant in Adiivka. Taking a position on the nearby hill, Russian invaders faced resistance from the units of the Ukrainian army concentrated in Avdiivka. As a result of the continuous fighting during the day, most of the armored vehicles belonging to the Russian army were destroyed. The Ukrainian paratroopers taking a position in the forest lane did not allow further advance by Russian troops and targeted the infantry and the remaining military equipment of the Russian army. Russia has been launching attacks in the direction of Avdiivka city for several months now.
