MOUNJARO vlog | When will I know when to INCREASE my DOSE? | Week 6
In reverse order of my week. Below is a summary version of my log. Today I move my dosage of Mounjaro from 2.5mg to 5mg. I have stalled out weight-wise on the 2.5mg dose. My blood sugar avg has improved this week!
15 December 2023, Friday
Blood sugar – 124
Week 6 update:
Starting blood sugar: 474
Blood sugar high: 152 (Monday)
Blood sugar low: 88 (Thursday)
Blood sugar average this week (week 4): 122.4
Blood sugar average last week (week 3): 134.6
Down 12.2 (Now that’s an improvement!)
Weight this week (Week 3): 182.2 lbs
Weight last week (Week 2): 180.2 lbs
Gain/loss this week: +2 lbs
Starting weight (Week 1) 185 lbs (Starting weight on Mounjaro. I had lost 40 lbs on my own since last June). Began Mounjaro for the Type 2 primarily. Losing some lbs would be a bonus.
Sleep – Same as last week. Still, much less than before I began Mounjaro. From waking up 2-3 times a night to just once…..and only a few nights a week….which may or may not be my fault for drinking too late in the evening. This alone, has improved my mood greatly!
Mood – As my body comes to terms with lower blood sugar levels, my mind is getting used to a new calm. The changes to my physical body in terms of lower blood sugar has got me motivated to make the life changes I should have made years ago…..but was too lazy. My mood has been much better. A bit stressed this week. But it’s a week before Christmas. Everyone gets stressed this time of year. At least I always have. Do you get stressed around the holidays?
BMs much more consistent and solid. Very happy for this update! I wonder if my body just had to get used to the 2.5mg dose of Mounjaro? Will it come back now that I’ve moved up to the 5mg dose?
I’ve thought more about food this week. Have wanted more snacks between meals. Mostly I’ve managed to control those urges. Mostly.
Today was my first dose of Mounjaro at the 5mg dose.
14 December 2023, Thursday
Blood sugar – 88
11am – Lunch. 2 egg and cheese omelet. 3 slices of bacon.
5pm – Dinner. Sonic cheeseburger. Small tots. I know I know.
13 December 2023, Wednesday
Blood sugar – 124
7am – BM. Pretty regular this week. Back to normal as far as consistency and regularity. Wondering if this will change when I up my dose to 5mg? We shall see.
5:30pm Dinner. Ribeye and baked beans (very small portion- maybe 2 tbl spoons)
7pm - popcorn

12 December 2023, Tuesday
Blood sugar – 124
8:30am – Two egg omelet.
9:30am – BM.
5:30pm – Dinner. Salad (very light on the dressing….but what’s a salad without at least some Ranch on it?!). Cold cut sandwich.
11 December 2023, Monday
Blood sugar -152
7am – BM. Broke a streak! That’s three days in a row.
12pm – Lunch. Tuna sandwich on whole wheat.
5:30pm – Dinner. Pork steak. Carrots.
10 December 2023, Sunday
Blood sugar - 127
9am – BM. Most normal one in weeks. Also, this is two days in a row with a somewhat normal BM situation. I’ll take it. Small victories! It’s weird how happy I was to see normal looking turds after these past 5 or so weeks. I swear, the older I get the more easily I’m amused and satisfied by the weirdest observations.
5:30pm - Dinner. Jambalaya. Small portion. About ¼ of normal. Felt full. Amazing how little I’m eating these days. You’d think the weight would be falling off me. Nope. Oh well. Feeling much better with lower sugar levels!
9 December 2023, Saturday
Blood sugar – 118
3:00am – BM. Solid and feel like I should have done more. Feeling bloated. Maybe it’s the pasta I had last night? I took it very easy on the pasta….but made up for in with an extra helping of meatballs. Lesson learned.
5:30pm – Dinner. 2 home-made tamales from our favorite taco truck. Delish. Hope it doesn’t mess up my sugar level in the morning.
