And neither does his chain of command. The real tell here is eating snow. Eating snow for hydration is a no-no because it hastens hypothermia. If you're without water, fill your canteen with snow, put it inside your clothes, and let the naturally expended body heat melt it. Given the field hygiene we've seen from the Russian Army (and, quite honestly, I don't know that it is any better on the Ukrainian side), if that soldier has been in the area for a week, the ground is probably a carpet of sh**.
