Turkish lawmaker who collapsed after saying Israel "will suffer the wrath of Allah" has died

Turkish lawmaker Hasan Bitmez who collapsed seconds after saying Israel would "suffer the wrath of Allah” has died.

"We can perhaps hide from our conscience but not from history... Israel will suffer the wrath of Allah," he said seconds before collapsing.

Bitmez had two main veins in his heart that were completely blocked.

"His heart stopped beating, then he was resuscitated in parliament and transferred within 20 minutes to hospital,” Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said.
