Indian court confirms end of special status for Kashmir

India's Supreme Court has upheld a 2019 decision to revoke the special status of Indian-administered Kashmir. The decision followed a series of legal challenges.

Judges ruled that the area's status as a semi-autonomous region was temporary -- and removing it was constitutional.
