The most useful system I have used to reach my goals is Reverse Engineering, which is the process of:

Writing out your goal and the date that you want to achieve it. Followed by listing the steps.
- [ ] Step 1
- [ ] Step 2
- [ ] Step 3

This is a simple and easy way to write out and plan a way forward towards your next goal.
