Gone are Stamps, the Paper Hearts (A Sad Song)

Once we wrote with pen in hand,

Letters through the days would span,

Telegrams with urgent news,

Empty boxes now the rooms.

Cell phones buzz, they break the wait,

Messages that won't abate,

Connections fast, we talk, we send,

But sometimes miss an older friend.

Gone are stamps, the paper hearts,

Now it's screens and digital arts,

Yet in this quick and easy part,

We lost the touch that fills the heart.
