DC Comics on Film Part III: The Era of Competition-A Munchausen’s Proxy Video-The Social Misanthrope

DC Comics found themselves with competition in Hollywood as the new millennium began. Marvel, emerging from bankruptcy in the late 1990s, realizing the potential of putting their characters on film. Thusly, the first decade and change of the new millennium saw DC struggle to meet the challenge of their near century-old rivals’ emergence as a force in film. It was a time of inconsistency and doubt in the studio, and this was reflected in their performance at the box office. I would be a hint of things to come. This video goes through their first decade of the 21st century and what hints it would give for the future.
