Walter Veith compares Roman Catholicism to Islam, focusing on their shared pagan symbolism. It makes sense that Rome would invent Islam as a weapon against its rival Byzantium. In fact, when the Turks were encroaching from the east the Catholic Venetian Empire allied with them, conquering Byzantine territory such as Cyprus, Euboea, Crete, Dalmatia and other islands and land. Catholic Knights from western Europe set up fiefdoms in Greece and the 4th crusade sacked Constantinople in 1204 AD, taking the burial shroud of Jesus with them. The perfidy of Rome knows no bounds. They support the Muslim invasion of the West. The Pope has said that the Koran is the same as the Bible and he has blessed and worshiped many pagan idols brought before him.
