Memes Are Illegal in Ireland

In November unrest took over Ireland as riots broke out over the stabbing over children by an Algerian migrant. Riots and chaos took to the streets of Dublin in response to the attack on Irish children. In response, Irish officials including law enforcement, legislators and the Prime Minister called out far right ideology and hatred against immigrants. Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar called for the swift enactment of new hate speech laws that target individuals speech online. This includes on social media platforms, for which users will now be criminally responsible for any posting or possession of hateful content. MMA lightweight champion Conor McGregor has been vocal about his opinions of the Irish government, and has hinted at running for Prime Minister.
