On October 29, 2018, while working at the Tempe Police Department in Arizona, Police Officer Lindsay McCall Long was asked to assist in serving a Domestic Violence Order of Protection, something she had done numerous times without incident, but this day would be different. The subject of the Order of Protection opened fire on Lindsay and her partner as they entered the residence. Lindsay was shot three times, once in the forearm, once on the back of her left arm, and her lower back. Lindsay’s partner was shot once in the arm.
