A bizarre love group which offered sessions to create perfect relationships is facing accusations of pressuring same-sex couples into changing gender identity - so that both masculine and feminine roles could be fulfilled.

The Twin Flames Universe organization offers “ascension coaching”, which promises anyone who joins a “harmonious union” with their “Twin Flame” - i.e. their lifelong partner. Sessions range from $20 to $200 and guarantee that you will "never have to experience separation from your Twin Flame again in this lifetime or the next”.

Twin Flames is run by Jeff and Shaleia Ayan in Michigan, who claim they receive directives from God to work out twin flame matches - but if one flame doesn’t accept the match they would be encouraged to cross their boundaries. "The energy was there to be more of the aggressor,” one former member explained. "Because one of the things you see a lot in twin flames is a push-pull dynamic where the twin flame is a ‘runner’ and the other one would be a ‘chaser.’"
