Historical significance -

Founded by the British in 1825, this charming town was initially developed as a summer retreat for the colonial officials who wanted to escape the scorching heat of the plains. Over the years, Mussoorie became a popular destination for tourists from all over the world, and its popularity only continues to grow.

Spectacular views -
One of the primary reasons why Mussoorie attracts so many visitors is its breathtaking scenery. Located at an altitude of 7,000 feet above sea level, this hill station offers panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and mountain ranges. The lush green forests, cascading waterfalls, and the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas make Mussoorie a perfect place to unwind and connect with nature.

For outdoor enthusiasts, Mussoorie has a lot to offer. You can take a leisurely stroll down the Mall Road and explore the local shops and markets. Take a hike to Lal Tibba, the highest peak in Mussoorie, and enjoy the stunning views of the Himalayas. Visit Kempty Falls and take a dip in the refreshing water or try paragliding and experience the thrill of flying over the hills.

Bhatta Falls -
Bhatta Falls in Mussoorie is a famous picnic spot and a popular tourist attraction. Located at a distance of about 10 kilometres from the Mussoorie Library Bus Stand, Bhatta falls is one of the best waterfalls in Mussoorie. Reaching the exact spot of the waterfall requires a little hike of 500 metres, making it a good place for the adventure enthusiasts too.

This natural waterfall cascades down from an altitude it 30 feet into a pool. One of the most incredible facts about Bhatta Waterfall is that it is not yet commercialized, which retains its natural setting and offers peace to the visitors. There is a children's park there as well with slopes and swings provided for them to play. The place has some small eateries as well.

How to Reach Bhatta Falls -
One can reach Bhatta Falls easily by a car or bus taken either from Mussoorie or Dehradun. The falls are located 10 kilometers from the Mussoorie city on the Mussoorie Bhatta road. Although one can reach there by bus or taxi, another good way to enjoy the journey is to opt for the Bhatta Ropeway which connects the Bhatta village to the Bhatta falls.
