Las Vegas police will be testing the new shotspotter monitoring system today in the 89169 zip code. That area is bordered by the streets of Paradise, Flamingo, Eastern and Sahara Avenue. Shotspotter uses a network of sensors to listen for gunshot and then alerts police when a gunshot is heard.
