Liman direction: the objective is to eliminate the AFU bridgehead

In the Lyman direction, there has been a significant increase in activity on the front over the past week.

▪️ The immediate goal of the Russian troops is to eliminate the AFU bridgehead on the eastern bank of the Zherebets River. The terrain makes it challenging to advance from the northern flank through the Zhuravka gully, so the offensive is developing from Dibrova towards Terny and Yampolovka. The clearing of the western part of the Broad Ravine is ongoing, and fighting is taking place on the outskirts of Yar Laptev.

▪️ Ukrainian formations are attempting to seize the initiative by utilizing motorized infantry groups from the 67th Mechanized Brigade and the 12th Special Brigade regiment of the AFU. The fighting is occurring from the southern flank of the Serebryansky forestry. The front line has changed since the autumn, as individual reconnaissance groups from the AFU have reached the outskirts of Dibrova. As a result, the Russian Armed Forces are recapturing lost positions through counterattacks.

🔻Despite the increased activity of the Russian Armed Forces in this section of the front, launching a large-scale offensive is complicated by the concrete fortifications established by the AFU in the Torske - Serebryanskoye forest - Yampol area. While the possibility of eliminating the AFU bridgehead along the right bank of the Zherebets River is quite realistic, launching an attack on the Lyman will require crossing the river and clearing all territories up to the Oskol reservoir. Given the current configuration of the front, this will necessitate significant resources and efforts.
