Clerk of Courts Aftab Pureval tries to rally support for Shelterhouse

The Hamilton County Clerk of Courts saw WCPO’s report on the overcrowded conditions and lack of funding at the Shelterhouse and decided to pitch in. "I was troubled by it,” said Aftab Pureval. In a nutshell, the homeless shelter for men, formerly called the Drop Inn Center, is operating at 35 percent over capacity and faces a shortage of $65,000 in operating expenses. "We are obviously concerned leading up to winter what the numbers will look like and the need will obviously be great," said Arlene Nolan, Executive Director of the Shelterhouse. Pureval said he planned to serve meals there Tuesday night to show his support.
